Recently as I was verifying some details on my business card, I started wondering when did people start using business cards and quickly went to the research expert Google.  Some say that business cards go back to the 17th century and were used by the French first, and others say that business cards go back to the 15th century and were first introduced by the Chinese. The business card has become an integral part of doing business, and has become a ritual to formally introduce ourselves. In certain cultures, people exchange business cards before even shaking hands. People have become creative with the designs of business cards and the material they use to produce them. Some even have their pictures placed on them, and others have a list of titles and their academic achievements on them. It is indeed not only an introduction tool but also a tool to express status, who you are, what you do, how do you think and how do you want people to think of you,

Anyway, it has been a long long time since we had a new tool for what is known as formal introduction.  With all the technological advancement and new tools we have to connect, can anyone come up with a better and more innovative invention to replace the business card. and if someone does, then who would be the first to break this old tradition and use a substitute and say we no longer use business cards.

What do you think!
